No More Small Pieces!

One of the things any mom can agree on is that toys with small pieces are the bane of her existence. This includes legos, building blocks, board games of any kind, and generally anything small enough that will go unnoticed until you step on it and nearly kill yourself trying to keep it from becoming permanently lodged in your foot.

This is one of the many reasons I absolutely love some video games. I’m not talking games with zombies, shooter games, or anything like that – especially not games that suck you in until you’re three shades paler than white and need an IV just so you’ll get some nutrition…I’m talking about video games designed after board or table games that can be played as a family or by yourself.

Here’s a list of some of the games that have been adapted to video games. Some of these, my family has and plays together on our computer, Sega Genesis (yes, we have one that still works), and Playstation 2 systems…

  • Life
  • Monopoly
  • Backgammon
  • Scrabble
  • Bingo
  • Parcheesi
  • Yahtzee
  • Family Feud
  • Clue
  • Uno
  • Dominoes
  • Cribbage

I’m sure there are way more titles available out there, these are just ones that came to my mind quickly, and that have already shown their ability to keep my feet injury-free. Are there any favorites that I’ve missed?

My Pinterest Picks – Easter is here!

Since Easter is next weekend, this week’s picks are, naturally, Easter themed. There were so many cute ideas for coloring eggs, decorating, and creative snacks that I think I may have broken Pinterest! ;-)

I seriously can’t wait to try some of these out!

Chocolate-filled Eggs

These are awesome! I think I would have flipped out if I got “real” chocolate eggs on Easter when I was a kid!

Crayon-colored Eggs

OMG. So simple and completely mess-free!

Eggshell Geodes

For kids who love experimenting and science – Connor will LOVE these!

Cinnamon Bunny Rolls

I’m beginning to think I may have been hungry when I started writing this post…don’t these look delish? You all know how I LOVE anything with cinnamon.

Jello Deviled Eggs

What an awesome way to make a kid snack look grown-up!

Cookie Easter Basket Cups

How adorable can you get with these cookie egg baskets? Seriously…these are adorable, look yummy, and don’t have anything to throw away!

Realistically, I’ll probably only have time to make one of these before Easter, so if you guys try any of them out, please let me know in the comments!
