30 Day Blog Challenge – #5 My Three Favorite Books

Oh, this is soooo hard. My mother taught me how to read when I was 2 1/2, and I could read and understand complete paragraphs by the time I was 3 1/2, so I’ve been an avid reader my entire life.

Let’s see, I’m a huge fan of anything by Steven King or Dean Koontz, V.C. Andrews was a favorite when I was in high school, I read most of the classics (in pre-teen version) by the time I was twelve – and have since re-read most of those. Ugh…time to go check my library and see which ones I’ve read the most. Okay, here they are in no particular order…

  1. Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon. I love this rags-to-riches story covering several generations. There’s adventure, adversity, triumph, and family dynamics all rolled into one riveting story.
  2. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I have loved this story ever since I was a little girl. I still can’t read the book or watch the movie from 1994 (starring Susan Sarandon and Winona Ryder) without crying. As much as I love my technology, there’s something about such a simple way of life that has always been very appealing to me, and I’ve always been jealous of their large family.
  3. The Smokey Barret series by Cody McFadyen. This series includes The Shadow Man, The Face of Death, The Darker Side and Abandoned. These stories that follow Special FBI Agent Smokey Barret throughout a large chunk of her life are riveting. I couldn’t put a single one of the books down, and read the entire series twice because I loved them so much. I think I’m due to read them again…

  1. Little Women was one of my favorites growing up, too – I’m hoping Princess Nagger loves it as much as I did when she gets around to reading it. Right now she’s reading all about dinosaurs, dragons, and loves the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. 😉

Well, I’m sorry I have to cut this short due to a horrible toothache last night and being up at 4:30 a.m. I’m beat. I’ve never had a toothache like that before ever. Have a good weekend.
