30 Day Blog Challenge – #3 Weird Things I Do When I’m Alone

Feel free to hop on our 30 Day blogging bandwagon, just make sure to link back to us!

Hmmm…weird things I do when I’m alone? Well, since I have a 5-year-old and a baby that’s not quite six months old, I’m pretty much never alone, so here are a few things I do that are just kinda weird.

  1. I often eat Lima beans as a snack. Yes, I love Lima beans. When I was a kid, it was spinach (who didn’t want to be like Popeye?), but since I don’t like spinach anymore, it’s the beans. Only caveat is that they have to be doused in butter.
  2. Late at night, I love to watch real autopsy and CSI shows. I think I was probably one of the few kids in high school who didn’t mind doing dissections in Biology, and I once watched as a dentist prepped one of my teeth for a cap. I don’t know what it is, but stuff like that absolutely fascinates me. Unfortunately, there aren’t many of those shows on lately, so I’m out of luck. I do check every now and then though.
  3. On the rare occasion that I’m up later than my kids, I love strawberries dipped in whipped cream, then powdered sugar. Personally, I wouldn’t consider this weird, but some people do, so it made it to the list. These things are almost better than sex, ladies!
  4. I read the news posts on Rotten.com. Once in a while, if I’m feeling particularly snarky and need to make fun of some people without actually hurting anyone’s feelings, I’ll read the news posts on Rotten.com. Some of the stories are horrific (thus fulfilling my twisted autopsy/CSI fix), and some are stories of people that are so hilariously stupid, a writer couldn’t come up with the stories if they were paid! I know, shame on me, but there’s actually good that comes of this – it helps me avoid feeling stabby towards particular people. Don’t get me wrong, I do feel badly for the people whose stories of stupidity get forwarded to Rotten…after I’m done laughing at them.

Oh, I wish I had thought about your #2 when I was answering this one! I LOVE Forensic Files and New Detectives. I had a thing for awhile where I only read books about serial killers ….. I have however moved on from that.
