Happy New Year!

Wow! I can’t believe it’s 2012 already! I feel like I fell asleep after Kyle was born in February, and when I woke up almost an entire year had passed…where the heck does all the time go?

Everyone here at home is back to their regular schedules again today – Connor to Kindergarten, Hubby to work, and me back to my classes and internet and blogging. Hopefully we’ll all kick the colds we’ve been dealing with since before Christmas this week too.

Here are my goals for this year…

  • Quit smoking
  • Redesign my blog
  • Blog more regularly
  • Stick to a regular daily schedule more
  • Be happy with who I am
  • Stop “people pleasing” at the expense of my own happiness
  • Finally get our bathroom finished

I know it’s an odd list, but I’m trying to keep it fairly simple…except for the quitting smoking, these are all goals I’m pretty sure I can manage. The quitting smoking may require that I be locked in a closet in a straight-jacket for a few weeks.

I’d love to hear about your goals for the new year!

  2. Hi Cheryl! Happy new year! Your resolutions seem absolutely reasonable, I think you just need to really want to make these changes, and it won’t be too difficult. Maybe the smoking part will be, but try to not smoke for a while and you will realize how smelly it actually is, and how you are actually disgusted by the smoke. I was a smoker before, and at one point I decided I should take better care of myself and I just didn’t light a cigarette for several months. Now, I only smoke when I am also drinking alcohol, which is not often, but otherwise, I am pretty conscious about the uselessness and smelliness of it. Just imagine your son smoking. It is disgusting, isn’t it? Well, keep that picture in mind when you want to light one. It will help you put it down. If you smoke, there is a much higher possibility that your son will also become a smoker, than if you provide the proper example. I wish you good luck and a lot of strength for this year! Hugs, Flora

    Hi Cheryl,

I wanted to stop by and say hello. I’m a friend of Dee Ann’s and she speaks so highly of you that I thought what better way to start off this year then to visit Cheryl’s blog and at least introduce myself.

Sounds like you’ve got some good goals set for this year. I guess I’ll have to drop back by more often to see how you’re doing.

Happy New Year and it’s a pleasure to finally meet you!

    ~Adrienne

My husband is quitting smoking as well. Talk about crabby but I am so glad that he is doing it. Good luck. You can do it. WE are all here to support you.
