“What are you doing?”

So my 5-year-old has recently decided that it’s time to just randomly break virtually all the house rules and see just how much he can get away with. Needless to say, he’s been spending a lot of time in his room and on the time-out bench.

I don’t know why, but a few minutes ago I just decided to mess with him. Just a little.

He was sitting sprawling half-upside-down on the couch next to me. I closed my eyes, put my hand on his forehead and pretended to concentrate really hard while I made a kind of humming noise.

He stood up and said, “what?”

I said, “what, what?”

Him: “What are you doing?”

Me: “Infusing you with ‘Good Boyness’.”

Him: “Aaahhhhhrrrrrg! I have enough of my own mamma!” while frantically pulling the “Good Boyness” out of his forehead.
