My four sisters all hate me.
Not in a “I can’t stand her” type of way, more because my first pregnancy was an absolute breeze. No morning sickness, no major back pain…even my labor and delivery were easy (my water broke at 4:30am, I didn’t feel any labor pains until around 2:30pm, and my epidural was a little on the strong side – I was snoring between pushes). Then, on top of that, Connor was the most laid back infant I’ve ever seen.
Well, needless to say, I was completely caught off guard by a recent bout of what was either morning sickness (that actually stuck with me all day no matter what I did), or a reaction to medication prescribed to me for a typical UTI. I have spent the past 10 days more miserable than I can describe – with dizziness, headaches, upset stomach, and the urge to run to the toilet to vomit every time I smelled fresh coffee grounds.
On top of that, unlike when I was pregnant with Connor, my belly looks like I’m at least 4 or 5 months pregnant – with Connor, I wasn’t this big until I was six months along, and I was still wearing my pre-preggo clothes until I was five months pregnant!
Thankfully, I feel pretty close to normal today – just a little tired. I’m really hoping that the past 10 days and my larger-than-expected belly bump aren’t just a preview of things to come.
